  1. Hey guys, i just finished ripping my first DVD! and it is very nice for a first rip, however when I split and encoded it with TMPGEnc I noticed that both cd's were roughly 500 megs. The quality is pretty good, but since i still have 300 megs for each cd how could I make the quality even better? is there an option in TMPGenc or what? thanks for your help!

you can try experimenting with XVCD technology. You can find more info about that on this site...

  3. What he means to say is that a xVCD is a non-standard VCD, which means you could raise bitrates to get better quality, easiest is to use a bitrate calculator then load the VCD1246 template in the extra directory under templates, and then load the unlock template, and then just modify the bitrates.
