  1. I'm trying to figure out how to do something and I can't find out how because I'm not really sure if it's possible or what search terms to use.
Basically I want to use chroma key to add a lit fuse to a video. There will be smoke and sparks. It will be added in to a scene where the subject is holding something (that will eventually explode). So I want the sparking fuze to be attatched to the object in his hand and his hand is moving throughout the video. Is there some way to "parent" the keyed in fuse video to the small grape sized object in his hand so it will move with it automatically?
I could spend an hour trying to edit it frame by frame and keep moving the sparking video with the hand but I'm assuming there's an easier way. I'm just not sure what it would be called. Parenting? Attaching? Can I anchor the graphic to a specific group of colored pixels etc?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. It's called "motion tracking"

Difficult to do in vegas alone. You'd basically have to do it by hand using keyframes. There might be some 3rd party plugins that can assist like boris fx . But typically you would use something like after effects, hit film, blender etc... and link the fuse footage to the motion tracked data
