Hi everyone,
Newbie here. I have some 24/7 video footage of a construction site that I would like to use to create a time lapse video showing the progress from start to finish. I have approximately 35 days worth of footage, each day as a separate video. Each days video is approximately 7GB in size.
What I would like to do is create a single 10 minute video using the 35 days footage. How do I go about this? Is it possible to do this using free software or do I need to buy some specialist software? The files are all .avi
Thanks in advance.

	35 (days) * 24 (hours/day) * 60 (min/hr) * 60 (sec/min) = 3024000 sec.
 10 (min) * 60 (sec/min) = 600 sec.

This is a ratio of 5040:1. Which means that if you were recording at 60p FPS originally and you want to have a similar 60p look at the end, you would need to decimate your footage to 1 frame every 84 seconds. This is usually done by dropping the other 83.98 seconds' worth of frames, but you could conceivably do a blend/interpolation for certain kinds of material (though it's doubtful if it would help in your situation).

This can be done in most NLEs (Premiere, Vegas, AVID MC, Edius, Lightwave, etc.) as well as AVISynth or AfterEffects. Hardest part might be the handling of the combined filesizes, depending on your system.

Another thing to consider is if you want to include the night time, as that would be approximately half you video. It could be cut out but would take a bit of time, unless you used the same trim() function on each video.
