I can get a DVDr to work in my comp but not in my dvd player. i know my dvd player reads dvdrs, i made a divx movie with DVDit to make sure. Heres a step by step on what i do.
1, rip the whole dvd with smart ripper, [DVD is under 4.7 gigs]
2, use ifoedit to get sectors
3, burn with the newest nero
4, try in my comp [works]
5, try in my standalone [dont work]
ANYONE KNOW WHAT IM DOING WRONG?? if so reply or e-mail me at ozzhead42@yahoo.com

When you rip with smartripper, just remove the macro and region. Rip all the files into a Video_ts folder and just add the Audio_ts folder. Works for me every time.
-
thx i'll try that. after you rip to you change any sectors? or just straight to burning. And what program you use to burn?
-
I just use passi primo dvd. I don't change anything. In smartripper I just change the rip method to files, select them and rip to a video_ts folder. Then just add an Audio_ts folder and burn. It keeps everything the same.

yeah-
if the DVD is under 4.7gb then don't do anything to the IFO's...simply rip with smartripper and burn the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders even if AUDIO_TS is empty...I've heard of NERO burning less compatible DVD's, try burning the DVD with PrimoDVD... -
thanks, im trying it right now, and also i dont have passi or wat ever its called. i got NERO the newest one and GEARPRO DVD
-
well i tried it... i got this disc to load up in my dvd stadalone but all i got was a black screen. [ burned with Gear Pro DVD ]

I Haven't used gearPro, all that I know is that Prassi PrimoDVD is the most recommended program for burning the most compatible DVD-R movies...if you do a little research, you can get ahold of the program...the only other issue is the DVD-R media that you are using...APPLE DVD-Rs are expensive but are considered the most compatible media, along with a few other brands...make sure you are burning on high-quality media and see if that makes a difference...

The process is slightly confusingly described in the guide available at www.mpucoder.kewlhair.com/Derrow/split.html
Ifoedit has a DVD player incorporated and I have found if the DVD you have created plays in Ifoedit it will almost certainly play on my standalone
