  1. Greetings!
I tried taking an mpeg file captured with averTV and used dvd2avi and tmpgenc (following a vcd guide) to create a file for nero rom to burn a vcd. Well the audio is out of sync with the video (it's late). Tried slowing down the burn speed with no success. One thing that might be a clue: when dvd2avi creates the audio track it names the file as follows:

    duecetake2 MPA T01 DELAY - 51ms.

the duecetake2 is the name of the file, the other stuff dvd2avi added. Anyone have any idea what this means? I assume it creates the audio track as an mpg audio file, but what about the delay part?????
I also checked my sound coded and it is the intervideo codec.

One other strange thing which might be a clue = when I try to play the original mpg file with XP wmp, the sound is really sloooow. If I run mplayer2 and play the mpg the sound is fine.

Hopefully there is something obvious here that a newbie like me is just missing.

Any assistance in troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated

  2. DELAY - 51ms

this means the audio needs to be delayed by 51 ms. you can use the audio skew feature under the source range filter in dvdavi....it allows you to start the audio before or after the video (you specifiy the time in ms)

in this case you would delay the audio by 53 ms (i'm not sure if it's negative or positive for the audio skew function, i haven't used it in awhile, but i'm sure someone will help you out or you can just test it on your own)
