I'm capturing TV with a WinTV board using iuVCR and the Huffy codec. My problem is incompatibility with Pinnacle Studio 7. It's making me go through a 3 step process: 1) Extract the segments I want from the hours long file(s) using VirtualDub. 2) Run that avi file into TMPGenc and output as an avi - this makes the file compatible with Studio 7. 3) Add fades/transitions in Studio 7. Of course after that I use TMPGenc again to encode to MPEG-2 for DVD.
I've heard some mention of different "types" of avi files. Is this my problem? If I capture uncompressed (not an option, files too large) there is no compatibility problem so it must be whatever Huffy is doing to the file.
Is there another solution or a way to shorten the process?
