    Hi
I have a .avi file that i want to convert to a vcd, but the original has a constant hiss sound when playing. To encode i usually use TMPGEnc, with SSRC and TooLAME, for the audio, but they don't rid the hiss.
Has anyone come across a guide or program to get rid of this hiss, or know of any ways to manipulate audio??
    Your help is appriciated.
    Thanks
    Ryan

  2. Search this board for:

    hiss

You'll get a bunch of hits.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. Extract the audio track, then download this program called Cool Edit Pro or 2000 from http://www.syntrillium.com. They have filters to remove intermittent pops and in your case, hiss. I've used their software to take out this hiss from Vinyl records, if you get the settings set properly, it'll work very well.
