  1. Hello All,

I have an HDR-SR7 that has blurred and shaking video playback for the last 3 years. I have been so frustrated with it, that it sits on the desktop unused for those last 3 years. This football season, I would like to re-use it to video games to show the team what they are doing right and wrong, but I remembered that this camera does not work well.

So, I finally researched today and found this sight and read the crazy amounts of problems with these Sony's having EXACTLY the problem I am having back in 2010!!! My question is whether Sony has stepped to the plate to fix an obvious flaw with overheating or something with the Steadyshot since so many owners are having the same exact problem and your forum had owners threatening to start a Class Action lawsuit. Or, if there is a fix or temporary fix to make this camera useful for this season, since I am probably out of luck with getting anything from Sony since it is so old now.

Thanks for your time. I would really appreciate it if anyone has any knowledge with the Sony problem and fixes.

  2. Can you post up some links to some articles or other forums where this issue has been talked about, i personally never knew this problem existed, and i dare say it may well have been an isolated issue.

As for a class action against Sony, i hope those who do embark on this path have very good lawers, or at least seek some expert advice, because a class action lawsuit can be very costly, and if they lose, they must also pay the legal costs for Sony as well.

Personally, if i was you, go it alone and take your concerns to Sony directly, as they may feel it is in their interests to treat each complaint on an individual basis, but be prepared for them to come back and suggest that if you knew the camera had this issue, why wait so many years to complain about it.

Might be a case of just sucking it up and moving on.

    Cheers.
