AC3 8 Channel to Bluray

Hi, I have an MKV file with AC3 Audio 8 Channel and I have extracted the audio file using MKVextract.
May I know how to create an M2TS file without downgrading the audio file to AC3 5.1 Channel ?
I have tried Tsmuxer and BD Rebuilder to convert the MKV file to bluray format but the audio had been downgraded to AC3 5.1 channel.
The original size of the MKV file is 19.9gb and after conversion, the file is only 13.3 gb.
I would like to convert the MKV file to bluray format with the 8 channel audio and remain the size around 19gb, is it possible?
Any suggestion and what software can I use?

You need to convert from AC3 to something else for Blu-Ray if VideoHelp's "What is Blu-Ray" is correct. According to VideoHelp's "What is Blu-Ray", Blu-ray only supports Dolby Digital up to 5.1 channels (Max 640 Kbit/s).

Your options are:
Dolby Digital Plus (EAC3) up to 7.1 channels (Max 4.736Mbit/s)
Dolby Lossless (Dolby TrueHD THD) up to 9 channels (Max 18.64Mbit/s)
DTS HD up to 9 channels (Max 24.5Mbit/s)
Linear PCM up to 9 channels (Max 27.648Mbit/s)

I don't know what software to suggest. I have never tried to author a Blu-Ray with anything other than 5.1 channel audio or stereo audio.

There's no free software to convert to dts,unless you have an uber stereo system you won't miss the extra 2 channels going to 5.1(6 channel).

There's no free software to convert to dts.

ffmpeg can encode dts, don't know how accurate it is however. Here is a sample, happy 4th of July everyone.

Standard DTS on Blu-Ray only provides up to 5.1 channels according to VideoHelp's "What is Blu-Ray".

7.1 channel LPCM is probably the only thing on the list that would work and can be done for free.

Maybe K.S.LEE should be buying genuine Blu-Ray discs instead of downloading if he is picky about the audio.

There is no such things as 8 channel AC3 (it is limited to 6 channels in 5.1 configuration maximum).
Use codec that support 8 channels - probably best will be PCM or alternatively E-AC3.

Dear All,

Can you enlighten me what free software that converts the ac3 8 channel audio to LPCM 7.1?
I am not sure about the AC3 8 Channel issue since when i played the MKV file on my computer, the audio track displayed AC3 8 Channel and I think that
the audio track was originally a Dolby Atmos soundtrack.
By the way, can an ordinary Bluray Player play a DOLBY ATMOS audio track? Actually, I am not picky about the soundtrack and I just want to learn
something from you guys.

A few facts:

1. a number of free softwares will convert ac3 to LPCM. NONE of them, however, will convert 8 ch., because
2. standard AC-3 ("Dolby Digital") only goes up to 5.1. Any higher, and it is no longer just AC-3/Dolby Digital, but rather DD+ or Dolby TrueHD.
3. Atmos is a brand new format that piggybacks on to existing DD/DD+/DTHD tracks, but it uses a completely different technique
4. There are NO Atmos-compatible converters, especially no free ones.
5. Whether players (software or hardware) will support Atmos depends on what happens to the stream. since it is piggybacking, the existing stream has to remain intact until "decoding+decompressing+rendering+mixing/channel-assignment" time. If passed through unaltered until one's receiver, only the receiver needs to be Atmos compatible (plus you will need to have HDMI 2.0). If being operated on prior to output from the player, the player/sound-output needs to be listed as Atmos-compatible. But then you'd need the HDMI & the Rcvr/Amp to accommodate the # speakers/channels that the Atmos is tailored to for your system.
6. The whole process is similar to 5.1-downmixed-to-2.0 or 3D-shown-as-2D or Color-shown-on-B&W TV. If you have the enhanced playback chain (from start to finish), you'll get the enhanced experience, if you have enhanced links missing, you will only get the standard experience (aka no Atmos).

You can use ffmpeg but perhaps there is no need to use anything - looks like something you naming AC3 is indeed E-AC3 and as such you can give a chance and try to use this track directly on BD .
Perhaps E-AC3 is recognized ac AC3 and that's why you say about AC3 8 channel (not possible in AC3).
