I have been using TMPG but wanted to give CCE a try as I have read that its faster - but I can't even get the darn thing to even start the encoding process. I am running a 750mhz Duron, 256 MB DDR ram 14GB free HD space and CCE 2.64
After I load in the AVI file, When I hit ENCODE, the Transcoding screen pops up but does nothing. Just sits there and the progress bar never even starts. I finally have to force-quit to get out of the program. Any help?

the way is working for me is changing the setting in OPTION>OUTPUTS>MICS then I only choose "try decoding in 32 bit RGB format,in my case if I choose both I get a error.
I hope this help...the picture quality is great...Rigo.F -
CCE has issue that if you don't include an audio file in avi (even a psuedo audio will do), it won't work correctly and usually lockup the program.

I ended up just reinstalling CCE and that seemed to correct the problem. But it still happens after a few sessions of encoding, and a reinstall seems to keep correcting the problem. Strange. It is definately faster than TMPG but I am not sure about the quality at CBR - I had been using TMPG for SVCDs at 2048 CBR and the quality was excellent - Is TMPG usually better video quality than CCE on CBR type encodes?
