Synchronizing audio from TMD AVI files...

Using TMPGEnc by itself does not synch the audio properly when encoding to MPEG-1. I then extracted the Audio using Virtual Dub to make a wav file, that sounded fine. Using TMPGEnc again with the wav file for audio and the tmd avi file for the video, the file was worse than before, and no audio was available, and the system started to lock up some.

What is the best way to preserve audio synch when converting from a TMD AVI file ?

I believe most of the issues here were related to the fact that my only DVD Player at the time was an Apex AD-600A, where the rom drive was a slower model DSL-600A with drive firmware that had known issues with certain VCD's (such as menus). After replacing the dvd rom drive with a faster one, performance was much improved with menus as well as audio/synch issues. However, the tmd files still are not the greatest to convert to MPG because the simply are not at a standard frame rate.
