I've been searching for VCD recorders and found Datavideo VDR-3000 with many options that I like.
I'd like to have your advice on VCD recorder. I have many old VHS tapes (10 years and older) that I want to transfer them to CDs. I have a few questions and hope you can help.
Is it worth to transfer old VHS to VCD?
Is it better with SVCD from the same VHS tape? compare to VCD
Is Datavideo machine good, reliable, trustable?

Please email me at jinguyen@hotmail.com or post reply to this message.

    Thank you.

  2. I can give you input to one answer, vhs to vcd, is worth it if you value the movie, and it is of good picture quality. Alot of my older tapes are so degraded due to copying them in the 6hr mode that they look bad after capturing them. The ones that are of good quality, are coming out pretty good.

  3. Jimmy , I don't know about this machine but people say that the terapin locks up when trying to record off of old vhs. go to the forum and do a search for terapin as your keyword. Also contact the manufacturer(or dealer) to see if their machine does this as well. I know this is not exactly what you wanted to know but I can tell that the guys who bought the terapin for doing what I just described are a littl mad. Well good luck I hope this will at least help you a little. Your Friend Ed
