  1. I am having trouble understanding the bitrate menu.

Can some tell me how to use this as it doesn't make much sense to me now.

  2. ok, in the blank spaces you can write the length of the movie, and choose whether you want to use one, two, or three CDs. On the right column you have bitrate values that correspond to the length you chose. For example, in row 2, with a 76-minute movie, using one 80-minute CD, your constant or at least average bitrate would have to be 1296 (it's a bitrate calculator).
If you're using ConstantBitrate (CBR in the encoder tab), you can put this value in Max, Min, and Max Avg bitrate on the botton row.
If you're using VariableBitrate (VBR in the encoder tab), you have to put this value in the Max Avg space, and whatever values you want in Max and Min. For example, 2530 and 300. TMPGenc or CCE will circle around those values in the movie, with a final Max Avg of 1296.
I'm a newbie, but I hope that was of help

I will give you one example from your screendump for a better understanding.

    one of your settings is:
    between 76 and 100 mins. Use 2 CD size 740 2515-1877

    This means:
When your movie is between 76 minutes and 100 minutes, then DVD2SVCD will calculate the movie to fit two CD's.
The CD size will be 740mb for a movie file. This means two 650MB CD's

If the movie is 76 minutes then the average bitrate will be 2515. This is only for the movie file, so exept the audio part.
If the movie is 100 minutes then the average bitrate will be 1877.

If the movie is inbetween those two values, then the average bitrate will be inbetween the two averate bitrate values.

You can also choose 800 MB as CD size. This means you will use 700MB CD'S. This will increase your average bitrate for the movie, as you van store more data on the CD'S.

You can also change manually the CD size. If you use 90mins. CD's, then you can manually enter 900 as the CD size.

    I hope this helps,
    The Dutchman

    I forgot something important:

If you decide to choose to use larger CD size as the values provided by DVD2SVCD, then please make sure that you burner supports overburning.

  5. Ok... Lets say that I was burning a movie that was 2hrs. or 120 mins. If I were to put in the first row....

Between 0 and 120 mins. Use 2 CD size 800

This would mean that it would create a file that is roughly 1600 MB or 2 cd's correct? If the answer is yes.... Why do they have the other rows in this windows. I guess that is what is confusing me. Why have the other rows when you only really need the first to designate the quantity of CD's or size you want.

  6. I think xzarkad did an excellent job of explaining it.
Here's my bitrate values I use. All above 1600 avg bitrate. All my cds are 80min.
