alba 108 (argos)

Hi all

Went to argos to get alba 108 dvd player said it did'nt have the SVCD on it
only CD/MP3/CDR/CDRW only so did'nt buy it ...

Is it still possible to play vcd/svcd ripped on a pc on it
Ie via 2812 hack or HAS IT GOT TO HAVE SVCD on it in order to see that menu.

hi,i've had my alba 108 for 2 months and it also does not mention vcd/svcd on front.it plays scvd perfectly.aswell as playing vcd it plays mp3's,cdr/rw up to now.dont worry it will play svcd converted from your comp.dont forget also in order to play vcd/svcd press 1 repetedly as drawer shuts.may take couple attempts but worth it.i believe also it can be made mult region but not got round to it yet.if your not happy you have 16 day money back with argos

I have the alba 108 from argos bought it a few months ago when u got the player thats in the book (plays everything), i went up yesterday and bought one for my mum, they dont sell the the original 108 now its the 108xi u get and its one ugly beast plus it doest play vcd or svcd and none off the hacks work SO DONT BUY IT , i took it back saying that i didnt have a scart socket in my tv so it was no use and got ma money back lol, buy the pacific dvd1002 from asda its £70 and plays everything without a hack.. might give my mum my alba and keep the pacific for myself lol
