  1. I am outputting from my HDMI video card port to my HDMI TV input port. I am able to see the Wallpaper on the TV but no icons. I rebooted my computer and all of the startup sequence was duplicated on the TV but when Win7 finally loaded only the Wallpaper is visible on the TV. I went through the settings on my video card program "Catalyst" and was unable to find any settings that would enable the TV. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

  2. You have an extended desktop on the TV. If you drag a window off the edge of the monitor it will appear on the TV (try all four edges). If you want to see the same picture on both the monitor and TV you should switch to clone (aka mirror) mode. I seem to recall the last time I had an ATI card it was a little hard to get clone mode working. I think I had to first disable the secondary display, then re-enable it -- at that point the applet asked if I wanted a clone of the primary display.

  3. Okay, thanks. I will try your suggestion. Would I do the same thing to play a video file on the computer and then watch it on the larger TV screen?

  4. You can use either method to watch a video on TV. With an extended Desktop you can drag the player to the window (device) you want to see it on. With clone/mirror mode both devices always show the same thing.
