  1. Hi

Is it possible to take a MPG/AVI file (6.3gb) and put it on 2 DVD disks?

I have used DVD Flick but I can't save it to a DVD drive and therefore ask me for further disk. Also, used Aiseesoft & Aneesoft Video Converter programs. All these software create a VOB file but it is larger than the size of a DVD disk.

    Any help highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

6.3GB is already too big for a single layer DVD....so what is the problem?

Isn't that what you want.....2 DVDs? What's the problem.

These softwares are crap. If I were you I'd run a thorough antivirus cleaning on your computer if you downloaded and installed this crap.

What is the total running time?

The 6.3GB size is not relevant when you are reconverting to dvd-video because you can change the bitrate to fit more or less/dvd.

    Thanks for the response.

Simple question really. How do I create 2 DVDs from a single 6.3gb AVI or MPG file? The Aneesoft and Aiseesoft were downloaded as part of the GiveAwayOfTheDay offer.

  8. First, from an XviD or DivX AVI you can create a DVD of any size you like. And if beginning with a DVD or MPG source, you can reencode it to any size you like. It's just a question of bitrate, as Baldrick mentioned.

Second, an AVI (XviD or DivX) can easily be split into two pieces using VDub. An MPG can easily be split into two pieces using something like MPEG2Cut2.

    Thank you so much.
That makes perfect sense. Why don't I cut the mpg into two and then create the DVDs.
Also, thank you for the links and recommendations.

    Thanks a bunch.
