Help: Audio sync converting from mpeg / avi to divx 4.12

HI!

I'm trying to encode some footage into divx but keep on having problems with audio syncing.

I capture them in avi ( Huffyuv codec), locking the video to audio. When I convert them to mpg1, they're perfect but when I tried encoding them to divx ( v4.12 or xvid ), they'll gradually lose sync problems over time. What gives?

My footage is about 2 hours + and my system specs is as follows

P4 1.6ghz oc to 2.1
Asus P4S333
512mb DDR
20gb IBM Hdd
60g WD Hdd
Aopen 40x cd-rom
Creative SB Audigy
Pinnacle Studio Vcd

Any help rendered woukld be appreciated.

And yes, the overclocking is not affecting anything. No temperature changes using the default HSF.

I have a similar problem. I encoded an MPG from a DVD, and when I use mediaplayer, the sound gets out of sync with the video. The video seems to play faster than the sound.

But when I used my creative DXR3 or PowerDVD, the sound and video match perfectly
