    Hi all,

I was wondering if there's a software that will enable me to push a designated key to take a screenshot and either save it under a temp file or automatically load it in a photo editing software? I'm currently pushing the 'print screen' button on my keyboard then pasting in Paint Shop Pro but I would like to be able to push one button as often as I want and have it automatically store/save the screenshot for later viewing. Can this be done?

    Thanks,

  2. Most media players have the ability to save images to a folder while playing. VLC, for example. I forget which key it uses but you can also use Video -> Take Snapshot, or press the Snapshot button in the advanced controls.

Thanks but I'm talking more along the lines of outside of a playback through a media player and more Live videos that wouldn't utilize any player. And it doesn't necessarily need to be video screenshots, could be just shots from whatever is currently being displayed on my screen.

Has anyone ever tried using camstudio http://camstudio.org/? Looks like you can take screenshots as well as record video. I might give it a try tonight.

Edit: Funny, now that I posted this I notice it's available for download from this site!

I mainly only want screen capture capability, not necessarily even from a video, just whatever is on my screen. Ex: I want to take screenshots of this thread I started, I hit the designated screenshot key (assignable), scroll down, hit the key, scroll down, hit the key...and so on and so forth and have it automatically save each shot in a folder I create. Very simple!

Just wanted to report that Debut is doing the trick! I just have it running minimized and I set the F1 key to take snapshots and it automatically saves a jpeg. Thanks for the help!
