  1. Alrighty I have an issue with MeGUI. Whenever I try to use it to convert the 5.1 audio on this audio file ---> Stereo it seems to crash MeGUI... Idk why it is doing this but it has worked before it just isn't working for this file... Here is the ERROR LOG. Please reply back as I would really like the help. Thank you!

  3. Output Decoder---[Information] [9/15/2013 12:52:40 PM] Channels: 2
---[Information] [9/15/2013 12:52:40 PM] Bits per sample: 32
    ---[Information] [9/15/2013 12:52:40 PM] Sample rate: 48000
wild guess: NeroAacEnc might not support 32bit per samples looks like a bug, best is probably to report it to their bug tracker

So should I report this to Nero or MeGUI or both?

  5. a. bug report to: MeGui, since it should serve the content in a format which NeroAaacEnc support
    b. a feature request to Nero if you want/need Nero (no clue where such a request would need to go

  6. I just checked my MeGUI logs and they all say 32 bit so I don't think that's the problem. Line #37 in your log file seems a little unusual to me. It would appear the source audio has two different sampling rates. Maybe that's the cause. Encoders don't seem to like change in the middle of an encode. You could try selecting a sample rate (ie 48000Hz) in MeGUI's audio encoder setup. If I'm correct, hopefully that'll convert the whole audio to a common sample rate.

Hmmm... That still didn't seem to work for some odd reason. I am going to try converting the audio to AC3 then from that back to low complexity aac... I hope there isn't too much of a loss in quality... also I do realize it is already in low complexity aac but my Xbox doesn't seem to like it either which is probably the same reason MeGUI crashes.

EDIT: Okay so I converted the audio to AC3 then to aac and it still crashed... Idk what the issue is... this is frustrating! =(

  8. You'd be better off converting to flac first instead of AC3 as flac is lossless. I don't know why it's still crashing if it successfully converted to AC3, but did you downmix to stereo when converting to AC3 or did you downmix later when converting to AAC? Whichever way you did it, maybe try it the other way. It might indicate whether the downmixing is causing the problem or whether it's the encoder (I use the nero AAC encoder regularly with a few different conversion programs and it never gives me a problem).
Or try another program such as TAudioConverter. Or if that doesn't work, how large is the audio you're trying to convert? Can you upload it somewhere for someone else to try?

I used a different program to convert it to AC3... unfortunately I cannot make the precise aac low complexity conversion with that program...I did not downmix when converting to AC3... I tried to downmix the AC3 format using MeGUI and it crashed again even with the file being converted to 6 channel AC3... I'll try the program you suggested out... Also my audio is around 230MB... Heck maybe I'll even try converting to FLAC then downmixing to low complexity aac stereo.

Oh yeah I just tried converting other 6 channel audio to stereo and it gave me the same crash in MeGUI...

I just hope this info will help us find the resolution of this problem... Gosh this is frustrating.

  10. Okay well I tried using your TAudioConverter program and it gave me the error that it can no longer find the file specified... It does this around 75% of encoding LC AAC Stereo.

  11. maybe there is problem with that specific file ?

I am actually trying with a different file now and it's still crashing...... so idk maybe Neroaac encoder can't handle it or maybe it is my computer or something idk... Is there any solution to this problem or is it just me?

Ummm okay I tried TAudioConverter again today and for whatever reason it just won't let me add any files into the program... Sometimes if I drag and drop it will work but if I click the "Add" button no files are shown......

  14. Where did the audio come from? A TV rip? I ask because sometimes they can switch between 5.1ch and 2 ch and it can cause problems.
Do you happen to have ffdshow installed? If so, you could try using DirectShow for decoding (select it as the preferred decoder in MeGUI's audio encoder configuration), and then use ffdshow's mixer to output stereo. Much of the time when other methods fail, DirectShow will work. Even without ffdshow installed you could try DirectShow to see what happens.

Yeah a rip..... Doesn't matter I never could figure out the problem so I just found a better copy...... Idk what was wrong with the audio but whatever...
