I have just purchaed a new computer, a Lenova 2T hd, Intel i7 cpu, runs great, problem is it takes forever to burn, I took out the orginal drive, and replaced it with a Nec 7200s and added a 7241, still takes twice the time of my other older computer, I know that RMA had a lot to do with that, but when I go into device manager it does not show any RMA and no way to add it, I am using Win 8 , don't like it but it came with the package and I am not familiar with this program. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Download and use only ImgBurn to burn your discs. It will tell you the speed and other information about your burner. The discs you use determine the burning speed also, though most are 8X or faster these days. You say the burner takes 'forever'. A half hour, an hour? It would help to be more specific.

DMA mode really only applies to older PATA (parallel) drives. I suspect your PC uses only SATA (serial) drives and DMA should not be a problem. A bad SATA cable might be, though, if nothing else seems to be.

Win8 shouldn't have any affect on burning speed.

Thanks, I have used Imgburn exclusively for years, wasn't sure about the RMA thing, thanks.

I had a comment that might have been helpful, but screw it. Clearly you're not interested in providing enough details so neither am I.

What brand of disc are you burning and what speed is it burning at?If you set the burning speed at 8x and only get a 2x burn then its a dvd burner issue with the discs since it doesn't recognize them in the burning strategy and uses a generic slow burning method.Buying better quality discs usually fixes slow burning issues.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
