  1. Hi all,
I've got this mpeg ts file with embed subtitles. VLC displays allright. Now because it is a tv record I trim the ads etc in Avidemux r8884 and save it having both video and audio set to copy but the saved video contains no subtitles.
    Am I missing something here?
    Thanks

I doubt avidemux supports ts captions. You can try can try extract the subs with projectx, edit it with subtitle edit and add back to the mpeg ts with for example tsmuxer.

Or try a mpeg editor like videoredo and see how it handles embeded subtitles/captions. It's not free though.

  3. Thanks Baldrick, VideoReDo works a treat. 15 days trial though... Haven't actually tried to fiddle the captions in any way, don't even know how just yet, so can't report back but it does what I want so deal is done.
