How to make effects like this

Hi,

I'd like to make somme effects like in the video (where 2 or more videos are each place in small moving of fixed rectangles):

it's visible at timecode 01:00 (1 minute).


I tried the vegas 11 demo and can't find such an effect.



And if possible also make the bars/rectangles size changing while playing...

It's not an "effect", it's a custom built animation.

The main tool used is Track Motion. And compositing vertically over several tracks. The white border comes from a white background peeking through.

I don't use Vegas so cannot be sure they use the same names but in the editor I use (Ulead MediastudioPro) it's called Picture in Picture, you'd need to add a Moving Path to the individual pictures to make them move or change size.

Can also be done in After Effects using strokes and masks. Took about 10-15 minutes to set up the example.
