  1. I'm trying to replace the original censored audio track of a music video with an uncensored version of the same song. In other words, I want to strip out one audio track and replace it with another while getting it to sync up with the video.

This sounds simple enough, right? It's not. The main problem is the music video's length is 3:27, while the song file I want to add in is 3:31. They would match up perfectly, but the audio file has a second of silence at the start and three seconds of silence at the end. The other main problem is I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to use any of the editing programs I've download for this particular task. I'm not sure any of them can even do it.

Can anyone help? Hell, I'll pay someone to do it for me!

    I do this daily.
If the video starts and stops abruptly(almost no silence at the beginning/end), chop off the silence of the new audio. I use Goldwave but any editor will do.

Load the video and new audio into Avidemux(ignore the name, it has almost NOTHING to do with AVI) and replace
the old audio with the new audio. There will be no video quality loss/changes.

That is a 5 minute job if you know what you are doing....and it's not brain surgery.

  3. Alright, I'm going to try both. I'll let you know what the results are like.

Yeah, well that's a pretty big "if" in my case. I did manage to cut off the silent ends of that audio clip in Goldwave, but Avidemux is another story. Not sure what the hell I'm doing in that one.

    Thanks anyway.

Here is a quick video guide I made:
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByhJZuQhzCDXVnR3ckd3d2VqcG8/edit?usp=sharing

Open the VOB or MPEG video in AviDemux.
Allow it to INDEX the file.
*My screen recording program sucks so the video shown inside AviDemux is jumpy. It wont be that way for you.
What you are hearing during the first PLAY is the original audio. What you get when you open your video in AviDemux
    is the original audio.
Now you need to add your new audio (as shown in the video)
The numbers you see me typing is me fine-tuning the audio sync. You can enter + (ie 150) or - (ie -150) numbers depending
on what your needs are. What you are typing are milliseconds so don't be shy with your numeric values.

Once everything is in sync, SAVE your new video and new audio as shown in the demo video....don't forget to add .MPG to the end of your file name. AviDemux does NOT do that for you.

    It's that simple.
    Good Luck.

    *Watch the video @480p
