Ive been a Classic Media Player man for the last few years.
    '
But with the advent of HD videos tried Pot Player, which seems to play them effortlessly, but I don't like some of its user interface.

Then I heard about KM PLayer, which I installed today.
It looks great on my first two or three trials.
And it has a better user interface.

Do many people here use KM Player (can't see many threads on it)

I want to standardize on one player that I like, so that I can get used to its controls and user interface etc.

    What do yo think ?

  3. I find KM Player the least troublesome, but satisfaction with these players is very subjective. It depends on your usage pattern and whether you tend to have just a few very standard file types, or collect badly-encoded videos from around the world. At least 60% of the videos I download were apparently encoded by bonomos with brain damage and no opposable thumbs: I find KM Player handles those with minimal glitches or annoyance. KM Player interface is less intuitive than MPHC, but once I got the hang of it I found it to be a versatile handy player. You may prefer the performance, specific features or interface elements of a different player.

I used KM Player until it became commercial, then I switched to Pot Player. (Pot Player is the current project by the creator of KM Player). They are very similar, and if you can use one, you can pretty easily configure/use the other.

I used to use MPC Classic
Then I found Pot Player played HD files much better
Then I found KM Player which I thought was better than POT player.

Now I trying to decide between POT and KM
KM's forum seems to be down.

I want to stick to one player so that I get good with its user interface.

I am finding that KM Player loses the sound on many videos if you fast forward.

  6. Were you using MPC or MPC-HC? The former is old and outdated so if that's what you were using you should try the latter. Every so often I try a different player but I invariably go back to MPC-HC. I play HD video with it regularly without a problem.

Which variety are we referring to?

On topic: I installed Pot Player on dual core system that had trouble keeping up with some HD videos with other players, and it did the trick.
