  1. Is there a way of making backup of pictures and videos from a micro-sd or sd-card in a camera if one donot have a pc or internet available? Have seen on a homepage of B&H in New York that they have a kind of backup drive that does not require a pc.
Are these storage devices available in Europe. Have not found them in Scandinavia. Perhaps it is sold in Germany or UK?

The reason for asking is that I have been on a long trip for almost two months. During this time I took a lot of pictures and videofilms. Unfortunately something happened with the Sony-camera which resulted in loss of many pictures and videoclips.
I used micro-sd card with an adapter in the camera. Consequently I could take some backup to the tablet and also to the phone.
I could use the camera all the time but some files were not visible and they grew more and more. I had no pc and almost no internet connection.
It was very timeconsuming to make backup as one had to copy from camera's micro-sd to tablet/phone's internal memory and then back to another micro-sd. Therefore it was not possible to make full backup. The transfer of data between the cards also stopped if it was too much.
Fortunately I could format the card when I came home and retrieve almost 100% of the files.
This was very time consuming as file names had disappeared and I had to find and rename them - for which I found a program. One could not even se if they were jpg or mts-files. Would say that I have spent almost 50 hours to find all files.

It would be nice to have a portable HD with an SD slot and a menu screen. The cameras transfer cable function is way to slow, and you have to use AC power, PITA.

A year or so ago, they made WiFi hard drives for iPod/iPad/iPhone users, but they were way too slow too. More of a bling gimmick than real utility.
