    Hello!
Last day I used this software to fix a mpeg2 file, but it has compressed the video into an orrible quality.
    What am I done wrong?

edit: often, if you can, give me info about the program... the positive aspects and the negative ones

To be able to help, you will have to give more details like what fixing did you try to do, what size was the original file, what presents did you use for output file.

  3. And provide mediainfo (text summary) of a.) the original file, and b.) the TMPG output file.
It's possible you just selected too low a bitrate.

Those are two contradictory statements. Muxing doesn't involve reencoding/compression at all. The quality won't change if all you did was mux.

I checked the options: if I start from a d2v file I have to insert manually all the options (even bitrate and aspect ratio)
How I can load the default options of the mpeg2 file taken from the dvd?

  7. It's not at all clear why you tried to finish an Mpeg2Cut2 project in tmpgenc. And more importantly, which TMPGenc product?

    I should use another software?
    Now I'm using TMPEGenc Plus
with Mpeg2Cut2 I demux video, with DGindex audio and then I tried to multiplex with TMPG, but there's no the default options of the mpeg2 file video demuxed

  9. What fixes did you make? It's not at all clear why you're doing any of this.

DVD is all ok. But when I extract the .mpeg (or rename) it is corrupted (audio disappears near the end of the video, and progress bar doesn't works).
So I demuxed video with DGINDEX (ac3 for audio and d2v for the video) and opened with TMPG
    VIDEO SOURCE: file d2v
    AUDIO SOURCE: ac3
But if I not touch the options the file comes out with a low bitrate, so I have to insert manually aspect ratio and various things.
My question is: there's a method, with this software, that I can use to load the default details of the mpeg2 file?
A normal multiplex, without recodes or size change. The same as the original, but fixed.

d2v is not the mpeg source, it is a DGindex project file. I don't think you can remux the assets this way,
    it will end up re-encoded.
You should use the DGindex option "save project and demux video".
Then use the resultant m2v/ac3 file and Tmpg tools to do a simple remux.

Speaking of which... the quickstream fix option on VideoReDo re-encodes the video? Because if I can fix an mpeg2 file without demuxing, in one step, I'll be glad to do it.

Also try TMPGENC Mpeg Smart Renderer 4 https://www.videohelp.com/tools/TMPGEnc-MPEG-Editor
    (like videoredo paid)

    a D2V isn't a video file, as you've already been told:

By default when going File->Save Project you get the audio and a D2V project file usually used in AviSynth scripts. Nothing is converted to anything. You can delete the D2V. If you want both the M2V video file as well as the audio file (and another D2V for you to delete) go File->Save Project and Demux Video.
Do we write these things just to see our name on the page? Is it in one ear and out the other with you? Do you learn anything ever? Did you already try Imago to remux your M2V and AC3? If not, why not? Why are you reencoding with TMPGEnc when all you want to do is mux?

Problem solved! I am an idiot, because instead of going on ''mpeg tools'' I used the main screen (the basic one, at the beginning)
