    Iam trying to extract a subtitle from video as srt or txt format using ffmpeg ,can you pl send me the command line for extracting a subtitle from video ......

    Have you tried with the map option? see http://evilshit.wordpress.com/2012/09/27/how-to-split-and-demux-a-file-with-ffmpeg/

    Or use mkvextract or mp4box to extract from mkv and mp4. Both command line tools.
