    Hi everyone,

I'm kinda new to videos and video software. I have a mkv video which I converted to avi, but the avi has no subtitles. I know if I play the mkv video with videolan I can turn on the subtitles, so i know it has subtitles. My question is: Is there anyway for me to extract those subtitles from the mkv file? I'm too lazy to create my own! Actually, would like to avoid it. Any help would be great!

(Assuming you're using Windows.) Install MKVExtractGUI and mkvtoolnix in the same directory, then load the MKV in MKVExtractGUI. You should be able to pick which streams/files you want to extract, that way.
