Try extract the subtitle with mkvextractgui2. Then can you convert it to different formats with for example subtitle edit.

Most playback devices don't allow you to set the size of subtitles. We get this question all the time. If you convert the format of the subtitle then maybe another format will by default be of a larger size, but don't count on it.

  4. I believe your TV supports the following subtitle format in a separate file:

MPEG-4 Timed Text (.txt (or is it .ttxt? Not sure)
    SAMI (.smi)
    SubRip (.srt)
    SubViewer (.sub)
    Micro DVD (.sub)

I would try using Subtitle Edit (SE):

    - File -> Import subtitle from Matroska file ...
    - Select "Timed Text" as format in top of SE
    - Create a new style. Right Click -> Timed Text styles .. -> New -> Font size
    - Applied it to all subtitles. Ctrl+a. Right Clik -> Timed Text -> set style
    - Save it and rename its extension from .xml to .txt (or .ttxt)

  5. Hi Videoburger,

Q: Does MKV playback "Timed Text" Subtitles ... if he mux it in the MKV file?

    Thanks!

Samsung TV generally has a hard time playing any subtitles muxed into a MKV container. It should be a separate file named the same as the video file.
