I don't mean favorite moments of a movie in general, I mean when you first saw it on the big screen. So this is limited to actually seeing it in the theater.

    -----------------------------

For me two moments stand out:

Seeing the Star Wars Special editions was a real thrill. Forget any of the controversies just seeing it on the big screen was a real treat for me. I was too young to see the originals in the theater so being able to see them larger then life was definitely a lot of fun.

Of course I saw all of them in the theater and saw each more than once. Yes I know they aren't perfect but just seeing the death star blow up on a big screen was worth it - even with the added shockwave.

    The other:

Seeing the first Michael Bay Transformers movie.

It was a real treat hearing Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime at the beginning of the movie. IT sent me back to being a kid watching the cartoons all over again.

The movie was a bit of a disappointment and the direction all three took. But I've still seen all of them in the theater and they are good action movies so that helps even though they are not "true" to the cartoons.

(edit - I actually saw the cartoon movie in the 80s in the theater with my grandpa - I don't really remember much about seeing it in the theater but i do have it on disc of course - the first dvd release not any of the later reissues or bluray)

Those stick out for me at the moment and there a lots of others of course and some for movies I've never seen in the theater but this thread is only for ones you've seen in the theater.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    1) In "Carrie" --- the end, the dream sequence, more especifically, the "evil hand" thing Which makes me wonder why many people HATE the so-called spoilers that much. I already knew the entire story or plot, BUT I hadn't seen it on the big screen yet. No, even one zillion words cannot take the place of seeing a picture.

    2) "The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane" --- THE ENTIRE MOVIE

    3) "Kill Bill vol. 1" --- Beatrix Kiddo kills the wannabe Black Mamba
I was the only one crazy enough to applaud the scene
