Is there a very basic Freeware DVD Ripper that allows you to name the files you rip and rips a dvd into many files instead of one? I looked through the tools and nothing hit me as one that does this? Also one that rips to mpeg-2 and avi? thank you.

What is it called when you put a disk in, read through it, make several mpeg-2/avi files out of them and rename them? Other than "Magic"! Thank you, John

  2. You will need to circumvent the protection with a decrypter first. Use DVDFab Decrypter (free edition) or AnyDVD:

Rip the DVD folder (from the disc) to your desktop, then use either VOB2MPG or Freemake Video Converter

Make several mpeg2/avi files? One for each episode or chapter?

Yes, during one pass. Suppose you have 8 episodes of a tv show. I would like to create a mpg/avi for each episode and rename to a name of my choosing at the beginning. Thank you, John

The pay version of DVDFab (I believe it works in trial mode) can rip each chapter of an episode or music DVD as a separate file and convert to whatever you want in DVD to Mobile > Generic mode or you can do MPEG2 passthrough and convert yourself.

You'll need to rename the files.
