Hey guys. I recently bought an HD PVR2 a couple days ago and on the first day it worked great. However, the next day when I went to record some gameplay footage, I got an error saying that it's not available or in use by another program. I've tried so many solutions online including unplugging and replugging, uninstall and reinstall, trying different USB ports, different programs, the list goes on. Still no dice and I'm becoming extremely fed up.

Now, the entire time I didn't think it was because it was being used by another program, however I did just check my sound card and apparently it's set as the HD PVR so I don't know if that's the thing effecting it or not. If it is the thing that's effecting it, then any idea how I change my sound card back to Realtek? If it's supposed to be like that, any idea how to fix my problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated because I'm like a day away from just saying forget it and sending the PVR back.

  2. Did you try power cycling the HD PVR? It's basically a little computer so it can crash.

Yes, I've updated to the lastest software version. Still nothing.

The light is a solid light blue. When I open it in showbiz, the lights blink for a bit, turns off, then turns back on to a solid light blue.

When I open it in showbiz, I get an error saying "it's not available or in use by another program."

I'm not in the UK so I'll try to contact the US one when I can.

    It common problem try this

1: Frist let get started you need to go to the Control Panel.
"Windows 7" Start button | Control Panel | under System and Security just look for the Device Manager link.
"Windows Vista" Start button | Control Panel | under Classic View just look for the Device Manager.
"Windows XP" Start button | Control Panel | under System then click on the tab called Hardware then Device Manager button.
2: In the Device Manager look for Sound, video and game controllers click on plus sign this is where you fine all hauppauge device.
3: Rigth click on Hauppauge Capture Device then chosse uninstall (Windows 7/Vista user besure to check the box "Delete the driver software for this device" as well).
Note: XP user you must run hcwclear after doing the above uninstall and yes it will remove any other hauppauge device you still have install in device manger so you may just want uninstall all them to and then reinstall all of them.
4: Then Power Down don't do a restart frist you need clear Firmware memory from HD-PVR 2 by unpluging the Power to it then power it back then re start the PC.

Note if the drivers reinstall on there own after reboot then you need redo the above just check the device manager.
Just download the latest Full CD it about 185MB off Hauppauge website also there always posting new beta just them because there the latest in 1.4 was posted the other day which also give the you latest Showbiz apps.
