Hi,
I'm running Media Player Home Cinema latest version, installed by the K-Lite Codec Pack, and I am having a serious display issue which despite my best efforts, I've been unable to fix. This issue has persisted through all versions of the player despite my hope that it would go away with each upgrade to a new version, but it hasn't. I use a range of players (VLC, GOM, KLM) but this issue appears unique to this player. This defect appears in the video display no matter what video format I'm playing, be it AVI or FLV and is constant all the way through playback. The effect is like a set of vertical window blinds...or like tramlines coming down over the video. However, the best way to explain is to show you with a screenshot. Please see attached.
Thanks in advance for any help!
ETA: I'm sorry, I've no idea why the screen shot hasn't rendered the video om the player.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, sorry, I've no idea why the display video isn't rendering in the screenshot...I just can't seem to get it to work.
RGB Values? I'm sorry, I don't know what that is. -
In order to take a screenshot of the video player, while a video is being rendered, only a few specific renderers can be used
In MPCHC, right click, options => playback => output => under directshow video select vmr9 (renderless), push apply, ok, close the player . Then reopen the player and play the video
To take screenshot, file=>save image -
You don't need to change the renderer: just play a video in two players at the same time, even two instances of MPCHC. When you perform a full screen capture one of them will show the video, the other will be black. But changing the renderer may fix your problem. So try it.

Thank You! I followed your instructions. However, I'm now presented with a new problem. It saved the chosen image from the video where I'd paused it, but without the artifacts in the video that I'm seeing on the video screen. So, the shot is clear, but that's not how it's rendering in the actual player.
The way I tried it before was by doing alr+Print Screen and pasting it into Irfran View. -
But are you seeing the artifacts with the new renderer when playing the video ?
Are you doing any scaling/resizing of the video ? or playing at the native dimensions ?
You can still do alt + print screen, if you're not using the overlay mixer. Or you can do jagabo's trick (2 players) , the point is you can't use the overlay mixer to take screenshots . When you have 2 video applications enabled, only 1 can use the overlay mixer at a time -

Hello, yes, same artifacts. No scaling or resizing. I don't even know how to use the overlay mixer.
Even when I do alt+Print Screen and close the player before then opening Irfran View and pasting it in, the image isn't rendering. I'm not sure what to do really.
The artifacts I'm getting is like several pairs of tramlines coming down the screen, made up of colour that's bled out from other parts of the screen somewhere. For example, say in the video someone is wearing a bright green coat...then somewhere to the right of them two green tramlines will be coming vertically down the screen. -

You may have an issue where the decoder is incompatible with the frame size of the video. Mod2 frame sizes often cause this type of problem. Disable MPCHC internal decoder for the codec in question. Or if it's already disabled, try enabling it.

Okay, something really weird. When playing the same video twice (in two instances of MPHC at the same time), the artifacts are present in the first player but not in the second. In the second instance it's completely clear of artifacts.

That indicates a graphics card driver problem with video overlay. On some systems only one player at a time can use video overlay (the player makes a black hole in the desktop, the graphics card displays the video through that hole). The second player uses the CPU to convert the video to RGB and displays it on the Desktop.
