i just got my advc 110 capture card i need help picking a program i was using WinDV but it droped some frames so what is the best program that works with the ADVC 110

You are using it.
The dropped frames have nothing to do with the program. Read the forum for causes and possible solutions. -
This could include: other processes running (bogging system down), saving to OS/Boot HDD instead of 2nd HDD, or saving to slow/external HDD, incompatible/corrupted drivers (occurs more often with Non-T.I. chipsets), filter graph chain corrupted because of Codec packs, underpowered system. Possibly other things...

I think capturing to external HDD is ok as long as in via an esata II connection. No usb 2. Esata pci card may be required.
