  1. I created an SVCD with Nero, along with 2 pages of 6 thumbnails for a menu. When I load the SVCD in my standalone DVD player, it loads the menu just fine. I can activate the different chapters by pressing the corresponding number. But once a chapter is playing, I can not get back to the menu by pressing the normal DVD menu/guide button. Does this not work on SVCDs? Or a Nero issue?

    Thx...

  2. Hi

I have a very similar problem. I create either VCDs or SVCDs with Nero with a thumbnail menu, when I load the (S)VCD and hit play the first page of the menu appears but I can't move to other menu pages, only select chapter numbers.

    My setup is as follows:

    DVD Player Pioneer 646A
    PIII with Win2000 Pro SP2
    Nero 5.5.7.2

  3. Celtiber,

I CAN move between menu pages by pressing a chapter number that is on a different page. Not with the arrow buttons, only with chapter numbers.

My issue is more the fact that once a chapter is playing, the only way to get back to the menu is by stopping playback, and pressing Play again. I would prefer to use the more inituitive DVD Menu button on my remote.

Usually, with (S)VCD, the 'menu'-button doesn't work. Instead use the 'Return'-button.

I don't know Nero (because I hate it ), but isn't there any option of setting the 'return'-value for each mpeg-track (so it knows what to load when you pressed the 'return'-button at the remote)?

Also, think about the 'timeout'-value. This is what the cd would go to when the mpeg has finished playing (or is this automaticly set to reload the menu?).

  5. Last night I read the manual () and you're right, using the return button I get back to the "menu".

What I still haven't been able to do is go directly to the next page in the "menu", i.e. pressing the next key when on menu page 1 is supposed to call up menu page 2.

In my case what I have is a VCD with 90+ photos so the menu takes 12 screens/pages (each menu page has 8 thumbnails on it). What does work is picking e.g. entry #7 on the first menu page, use the next key to get to #9 then pressing return calls up the 2nd menu page. Not exactly the most user freindly way of navigating the disc!

    Any suggestions?

  6. Duh. Who would have thunk that reading the manual might answer my question. Sheesh.

    Thanks
