    Where are you coming from ? Are all US Tvs 1920*1080 ? I guess not. There are some tvs with a resolution of 1366*768. Over here, they were marketed as 'HD Ready' for the conversion of the broadcast system from analog to digital. I believe that some sets are still sold with that resolution.

    Most are 1366x768 or something like that. They can display a 1980x1080 picture but it looks terrible.
