  1. hi im all very new to this so i hope some one can help iwhen i use tmepg
    the quality of the output file is very blocky is there any one who can help as i would like to be able to get all my setting right and be able to finaly do a good dvd copy instead of having big blocks in the picure

    This question is equivalent to calling your mechanic on the phone and telling him your "car doesn't work" and then asking "what's wrong with it". Just like your mechanic needs more information, so do the people on this forum. Try asking your question again, but this time list all the programs you are using and most importantly what settings you are using in these programs.

    i used dvdtoavi to get the avi and sound
    now for tmpeg i am using
    the vcd template
    mpeg 1 29.97fps
    is this any help

    Are you trying to make backups of NTSC or PAL dvd's. What ripper are you using. If the movie is progressive, are you using FORCE FILM in DVD2AVI. If you are looking for better quality, why not try SVCD rather than VCD.
