  1. Hello there,

Could you please recommend me a software for cropping Blu-Ray original disk without any change of the audio and video quality. I would like to make some short videos for demonstration purposes with suitable scenes, but it's really important for me not to change anything into the content. Especially the quality.

    Thank you in advance!

    Best wishes,

    Lubomir

For the video, none. Cropping requires a reencode. Of course, if you use enough bitrate you might not be able to see the loss of quality without looking at enlarged still frames.

  3. Thanks for the reply!

So you mean that there is no way to crop without any video changes? The audio shoud be the same but the video should be processed somehow and shoud be different? Could you please recomen me the software which i shoud use! Thank you again!

  4. I suspect he probably doesn't mean "cropping"

"cropping" in the video world means taking pixels off the borders (top, bottom, left, right)

Can you clarify if you meant editing a scene, e.g. cutting a clip 1:01 from from 1 minute 2seconds, to 2 minutes, 3 seconds, something like that ?

That's correct. But if you really mean you want to "trim" the video, ie, cut it into short duration segments, you can do that without reencoding. Only cut GOPs (a short bit at the start or end of the segment) will be encoded.

The audio can be re-muxed without changing it at all.

I don't fiddle with Blu-ray sources much, but as I understand it, VideoRedo can cut on keyframes without reencoding. Or on any frame, only reencoding the cut GOPs.

You may be right. Then again, we do actually get posts from people who want to do something that can't be done without a re-encode and they want to do it without a re-encode. Honestly, I'm getting tired of having to play mind reader with newbie posts.

  7. Hello everyone! First of all i would like to say thank you to all of you for your replays. I'm very sorry that i did use a wrong termin. Actually i really mean CUT from once minite to another. So my idea is just to cut some scence to make a demo only with interesting moments. So actually i really wants to keep the quolity. So i'm looking for the appropriate software for that (windows). Thank you. If you have any other recommends i would appreciate them!

    Yours,
