    After installing MPC-HC, all videos play back without video tearing, because MPC-HC's default settings ensure tearing-free video. By default, mpc-hc installs with vmr7 windowed selected, and video tearing appears only if I change it to something else like vmr9 renderless, vmr9 windowed, or evr.

    How come this is not the case for Flash Plugin ? Every time I watch an online video, on youtube or other websites, they are all played back with video tearing. The only solution I found is to download the video, and watch it offline with mpc-hc.

    Adobe Flash Player IS NOT optimized for performance, period.

    It's optimized for ad serving , doubtless.
