  1. don't have any questions pertaining to conversion because TMPGenc locks the computer after about 20-30 minutes of encoding

    i am using TMPGenc v.2.53.35.130
    on windows xp pro
    with 192mb sdRAM
    and P3 667

also tried it on my other partition with win98SE and have the same problem
i have disabled all screensavers and power saving settings

ANY info would be greatly appreciated
    thanks

I had the same damn problem, and nobody could find a solution. This is how I finally solved it.... I had the impression that it was a video card or video driver issue. You might not have the same problem, but try this... Go to the settings in tmpgenc and turn off the preview option. This way, you don't see the video rendering, just a black screen. This solved my problem. Hasn't crashed since. Try it.

  3. thanks in the process of trying now

i forgot to mention that i have a ATI All In Wonder PCI card
this no doubt will be the cause of the problem
i should have known since i am using the TV out feature while i am encoding
"why would i do that?" you ask
well the only time that the comp isn't [clearing throat] colecting information is when it is offline at home
man i love C+C Renegade and Jedi Knight 2 on a 27" TV
    :P :P :P :P

    thanks for the quick response
now if only the audio stays synced

now about half way through the conversion i get this error
    "stream writing error"

which is caused by a frozen or dropped frame in the DIVX source

any suggestions for that fix ?

    thanks
