did I do something wrong in dvd shrink?

I am trying to burn an ISO file. I am using DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 and ImgBurn 2.5.7

Select backup target = "ISO Image File"

I find my folder to save it to, however, once complete, it is a winrar file that extracts to two folders "Audio_TS" and "Video_TS"

What happened to the ISO image? Did I install the wrong version of DVD Shrink because I notice it says "install Nero to burn"

Well, for one, you seem to have WinRAR installed on your system which is taking over control of the .ISO extension. Stop it from doing that.
As a matter of fact, I would suggest you uninstall WinRAR completely from your system (install 7zip instead - it will cover RAR files as well).

Next, change your desktop settings so you can actually SEE your extensions.

Next, don't go looking for the ISO via Explorer, Open ImgBurn first and do the folder search from within the app. It should see the ISO file just fine. If not, and it truly isn't there (which you could also check from Explorer), you know that somehow you didn't do something correctly in DVDShrink.

Is there actually single ISO file in the backup folder? If so, it's supposed to have Video_TS and Audio_TS inside it. ISO files are pretty much zip files for discs. As Cornucopia said, WinRAR might be trying to open the ISO file when you select it.

Nero will open a burn ISO files, but so will ImgBurn. If you pick the "write image file to disc" option, you should then be able to open the ISO file with ImgBurn and just burn it.

With my previous installation of DVD Shrink and Imgburn, DVD Shrink would shrink the movie and then Imgburn automatically opens up when Shrink is done and burns the ISO file directly to DVD-R.

In this fresh installation on my new notebook, I'm trying to rip "Flight" but DVD Shrink can't open it. So I have to use DVDFab HD Decrypter. It will create two folders "Audio TS" and "Video TS". Then I use DVD Shrink to "open files" and look for the video file. Half way through I get this error message:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue

Out of memory

Not enough storage is available to process this command.

In that case, I did select "write image file to disc" option but Imgburn did not open up. So I used Nero to burn it. I'm trying to get it so Shrink starts and finishes, Imgburn opens up and copies ISO to DVD-R.

I meant the "write image file to disc" option is the one you'd select after opening ImgBurn yourself. Then you'd open the ISO file for burning.

I don't think there's any way to get DVDShrink to open ImgBurn automatically when it's done and burn the image, if that's what you're trying to do. If memory serves me correctly, even DVDShrink's "burn with Nero" option (or whatever it's called) only works with older versions of Nero.

Unless you particularly want to keep the DVD files as an ISO image you can just get DVDShrink to backup the DVD to a folder fill of DVD files rather than a single ISO. Then open Nero or ImgBurn and burn them as a DVD video disc. Either way, the end result should be the same.

Go to VideoHelp's Tools page for DVD Shrink, and look for the "Download DVD Shrink for Imgburn" link under the "More information and other downloads:" header. That's the version of DVD Shrink that's been patched to use Imgburn, rather than Nero.

That's correct. If I remember correctly, it stopped working with Nero version 8 and later.
