I have used BD Rebuilder to go from BD to BD25 and have always been successful. This week I tried the ipad output settings but a 1080 ipad setting ouputs 13gb file and a 720 ipad setting results in a 7gb file. What settings can you suggest to keep the output file around 2 to 2.5gb files?

I did set a custom target to 2500, but I think the ipad setting overrides it when I select it.
Is it the CRF setting? I have been leaving that at CRF 20.

the larger the crf the smaller the size of the file.

there is another setting to enable the custom target in "settings/output options/custom target size" that may need checking to get it to work.

p.s. those sizes (13gb and 7gb)are about right for keeping HD movies watchable. you go much smaller and they won't look good. 2-2.5gb is ok for SD 480 material.

Let me guess - and stop me if I'm wrong.

Your original source BD rip has more than one audio track in it and you decided to get rid of all but one audio track, right?

I've seen BDRB just refuse to encode within the size limits given it when you start removing audio tracks. It doesn't do this all the time, but it does it sometimes under those conditions. The only fix I know of is to put the extra audio back in and then BDRB will shrink the file correctly to your size constraints, but it will keep the extra audio.

You can also try using another program to encode with for iPad. I believe that Handbrake and Xvid4PSP both have iPad settings.
