The other day, I was wondering why my disk space had gotten so low, so I took a look around my computer... I have one .avi file that is 86.4GB! I looked at it's properties, and I think the reason it's so high is that its total bitrate is (OVER 9000 (Sorry, I've been wanting to use that meme for a while now)) 143392 kilobytes per second... I need to know how to make it smaller. I've already tried google, but no such luck. Any ideas?

At that size it's probably uncompressed RGB or losslessly compressed. You can compress it with any number of codecs, MPEG2, Xvid, x264. Which you use depends on your needs, what you plan to do with it.

If you have no other software, drag the file into Windows Movie Maker and export it to the smallest format consistent with your needs.
On the other hand, if it is high definition, loss-less capture of aliens landing at Roswell, NM, the demise of some infamous bad-guy, or an unpublished, discarded piece from "Thriller," you could sell the file and be a very rich honcho.
