Hello guys,

since a long time now I am trying to solve this little problem I have. I got a 5.1 surround system in my room and I use it for both my PC and my TV. Since I use a XFi soundcard I use the different modes to swap my channel mappings like 90° for example the front left speaker in PC mode becomes the front right for TV mode.

But I would like to know if this is possible to do without the XFi modes.

1. I downloaded ffdshow now since there is an option for that BUT I cannot figure out how to actually have it doing something. In the ffdshow audio decoder configuration I swapped some channels under "Swap Channels" and did that for new profile. Then I set up a "preset autoload condition" with mplayerc.exe but it still only loads the default profile. What am I doing wrong here?

2. Other than that, is there a GENERAL solution for swapping channels? I mean using the above method I would have to tell each player to use the external ffdshow and not every player wants/offers that feature.

So basically, I would love to have a software solution which does exactly the same as the XFi modes, changing the audio channels in the whole operating system globally and not for certain applications(I guess the named method does that), is there such?
