    I just turned my HV30 on and the White Balance, Image Effect, and D.Effect Setup menus are all grayed out. What caused that? How do I get them back? I use the White Balance Menu every time I use the camera. All other menus are normal.

    move the slider out of "auto" mode and back to "p" mode.

    Thanks. That was it. I never messed with that button once I found out what it was for when I bought the camera. I think I even tried moving that button earlier today with no success. Guess I must have moved the switch while handling the camera the other day.
