When I use VirtualDub 1.9.11 AMD64 in Windows 8 x64, if I go Audio -> full processing mode, and then click on Audio -> Compression, I get a VirtualDub Program failure. The crash detail is "an out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occured in module 'Veedub64"...
...reading address FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF...
...while enumerating formats for audio codec "ffdshow Audio Decoder"
(acompchoose.cpp:222)...
...while enumerating audio codec ID 00241138 (acompchoose:217).
The same problem doesn't occur with the 32 bit version of VirtualDub.
Is this normal?

This may be a bug: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3517198&group_id=173941&atid=867360
Tentative solution: do not install ffdshow's Avisynth scripts serving option.Last edited by shun; 21st Dec 2012 at 20:37.

I highly recommend you use 32 bit VirtualDub. There's no real benefit to using 64 bit VirtualDub and it's less reliable than the 32 bit version. There are many more third party filters for the 32 bit version too.
