I bought a Windows 7 laptop to run a few programs that don't have good equivalents on Mac, but it looks like I got f*cked over again because of course this POS operating system never works as intended.
I tried using FLV Extract but it did not work. Then I read I needed the Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework but none of the three packages on the official Microsoft page will install correctly. I keep receiving error messages that it cannot be installed on this computer. WTF?!

FLV is the most "dead-end" format/container ever developed. It's easy to convert normal video to FLV, but very very difficult to get anything useable FROM and FLV file. It's always been that way.....and of course you blame Windows even though there are no "good equivalents on Mac" either.

Win7 already contains .Net 2. All I can say is FLV Extract works fine for me. AviDemux should do the job just as well.

normally I use FLV Extract and/or ffmpeg to handle flv files,.. works fine so far. (FLV Extract here too works fine on Windows)

Although not freeware, TMPGEnc Video mastering Works 5 also gets the job done.
