Ive been using a Philips DVD player for my DIVX needs for the last half a decade, but its about the time to upgrade. I am primarily looking for somethinig that will play the most popular formats, which I think are MKV, Xvid, MP4 (apple codecs). Id like for it to have optical out for my reciever. Blu Ray playback is an added bonus.

What are considered to be top choices right now to meet those needs? I saw that someone posted LG is pretty good? But someone else posted they break easily?

I was considering getting a WD Hub since that is supposed to be really good, but that doesnt have a Blu Ray or DVD player...

Thanks for feedback ahead of time

personally is use an lg 3d blu-ray player and a hard drive file server all on a hard wired network. don't remember if it's optical or coax audio to the av receiver, but they are both identical signals.

Does it play all the popular avi/mkv/mp4 formats? What model do you have? How is upscaling of divx/xvid and DVDs?

Wired internet is not an option for me, it would have to be wifi if I get internet to it. The closest internet jack is on another floor of the house.

    Thanks.
