I have a Sony Camcorder and created a home movie. I attached the Camcorder to my computer and it downloaded the video files (MTS) and the Sony software allowed me to create a DVD. I did this and the DVD plays fine on my computer and TV. I wanted to over lay a song on the video but before I tried to use Camtasia to do that I used Camtasia creating a simple AVI file (CD option) and created a DVD. The DVD plays on my computer BUT NOT on the TV. Is Camtasia capable of creating a DVD that will play on TV ? What options or Camtasia versions do I need ?

Camtasia does NOT create dvds. Read the answer1 from above again in trying to use the mentioned DVD AUTHORING software.

Camtasia is screen capture software. Screen sizes are not dvd friendly so you have to do all sorts of manipulation to the captured image.

You could try some different authoring sofware such as AVStoDVD and then use imgburn to transfer those files to a dvd.

The other possibility is that your dvd-player - the one that you use for the tv - only supports one type of blank media - either -R or +R - and you used the wrong one
