Most DRM converters convert the entire video. Are there any DRM converters that allow you to select a portion and only convert that edited portion?

What type of DRM specfically ? What type of media ? What type of file ?

What all commercial "DRM removers" do is essentially a screen recording while the DRM key is still active . They don't actually remove DRM or "strip" the protection per se . You're not left with an identical copy.

You can use a screen recorder e.g. camtasia, camstudio, fraps, dxtory while playing the section you want . If you use a lossless codec, the filesize will be very large, but the quality will be preserved. Many people record lossless, then re-encode to a more compressed managable filesize later

Some keys are limited by time, some by the number of plays. So be careful with your planning

I stayed up part of last night learning that DRM removal software is outdated and only works on Windows XP. Looks like there are only a few DRM converters, I think I will use iSkysoft DRM Removal. Looks like the only way to record a specific portion is to outright record the screen.

And even then it doesn't necessarily work....

If you were talking about a part of a frame (cropped), then you set your recording window area to that section. (e.g. top right corner or whatever)

"Underneath the hood" All DRM converters do is screen recording . You can just as easily use your own screen recording software (some are free) and you have more choices usually on format, codecs etc...
